Notebook cover design ideas from our team

When it comes to branded Notebooks, we’re pretty in the know here at MOO. So much so that we recently asked our in-house Design Services team to whip up a collection of exciting Notebook cover design ideas (to show you just how great they can really look). 

So say hello to our three designers, Logan, Katie and Claire. We tasked them each with creating a Notebook cover design from scratch. No rules. No color palettes. Just a blank canvas (and of course, a tight deadline!). 

Here’s what they came up with.

This eye-catching design was created by Logan and was inspired by Apple’s use of complex, multicolor gradients. Logan’s aim was to make a more ‘corporate’ looking brand feel a bit more fun and vibrant.

With MOO’s Full Print Notebook, there’s the opportunity to go fully bespoke, which is what Logan has done with his design. It’s not just the Notebook cover design itself that is customizable, you can also choose a bespoke top sheet, ribbon and seam. Cool right?

This design is a great example of how to keep your brand front of mind, but also create something beautifully giftable for your employees and clients.

Our second Notebook design is by Katie. She was inspired by the Pantone color of the year (Viva Magenta) and wanted to create a bold and playful color scheme to celebrate it. Her aim was to design a Notebook with a fun, abstract pattern that could be used by anyone, and it’s safe to say we LOVE the result!

Customized Notebooks are a great tool for brands that want to show-off their designs on branded merchandise to resell in-store or online. Katie’s design is a great example of this. With a stunning, intricate illustration covering the front, spine and back of the Notebook – it’s beautiful from every angle. And with a customized topsheet for the recipient to add their name, it’s been perfectly personalized too.

As part of her role at MOO, Katie loves helping brands use Notebooks in various ways. She commented; “As a team, we love to surprise customers with ideas that we believe will be useful for them based on their industry and branding. Sometimes they come to us with a specific idea in mind, and sometimes they give us full creative freedom to present multiple ideas to them.”

Last but not least, our third design is by Claire. She comes from a big family of cooks, and wanted her design to be personal yet practical. Her mom has collected recipes for years, and Claire thought using photographs of these recipes would be a fun way to incorporate typography into her design.

Using photography for this design is a unique departure from a more traditional graphic style. And with these organic, scanned images Claire has created an intriguing collage effect, making the product feel really personal and hand-made.
