I drew inspiration from the shapes and colours found in Russian Constructivist posters. My idea was to create a colour field for the letter to sit within, keeping the white space empty. I think this design works on two levels – stylistically it’s striking; and functionally it draws the eye to where it matters – the letter itself.
About the designer
Emily is a Boston-based designer who earned her BFA in Visual Communication Design at the Hartford Art School. When not working at MOO she's most likely in her tiny home studio, sewing her own dresses, reading lots of non-fiction, and making breakfast for dinner.
