Your biggest business mistakes

25th June 2012 by Dan H

We always love to hear about your businesses and  success stories here at MOO, but we understand that it isn’t always plain sailing, which is why we asked you to share your biggest business mistakes with us on the MOO Facebook page.

There were over 60 suggestions, ranging from the insightful to those that raise a smile – and all of them are worth considering when building your business.

As with all our competitions, there has to be a winner, and it was really tough to single out just one. But we eventually settled on Stuart Shevlin’s entry:

The fact this is such a simple mistake to make captured our attention and the thought of having to hide 9000 sandwiches made us chuckle. Congratulations Stuart – some MOO goodies will be winging their way to you soon.

Of course, we feel it’s only fair to share some of the others, so that you can avoid the same pitfalls. So here’s some more that caught our eye:

We also had to share this comment from Scott Buscemi – who correctly pointed out that we didn’t announce what the winner would get from this competition. It made us laugh, and we like to keep a bit of mystery – but there’s always some MOO goodies up for grabs!

Thanks to everyone who took part and if you’ve made any other mistakes that others would do well to avoid leave us a comment below.

LOL @ Phil Collins Separate Lives on a wedding

  2. Abdul Qoyyuum:

“Word Masseuse”. So that’s how you spell that word, “Masseuse”. Everytime I tried to write that word out, I just write “the person who massages people”. Increase more number of words. :D

  3. Victoria:

Good question and good article! :)

  4. Phil Wheatley:

Not building a list of prospects and customers from day one, I shudder when I think of the amount of money I left on the table. Still, it’s all a learning experience.

The second biggest mistake which relates to my first one was not going back and selling more products to those who had already bought something, instead of what I did which was to go and find new customers.
