What’s on your Skype cards?

9th November 2006 by Denise

Well, its been a frantic few weeks but its great to see all the little Skype MiniCards going out into the world and listening to your feedback. You’ve chosen to put a huge variety of stuff on the front – everything from the more serious and businesslike to the borderline insane… we just wish we could be there sometimes, to see the reactions you’re getting when you give them out.

We already know at least one person’s got a date from handing out a MiniCard – and it was a friend of the MOO Crew – are there more of you out there? From the amount of pickup lines on the cards, we really hope so! Let us know if you do get a date – bring a little sunshine into our lives.

One of the cooler things about MiniCards is that every one can be different. Something we’ve noticed is that some of you are making cute , personalised ‘I love you’ cards, for that special someone and sneaking them in with the rest of a more serious 100 pack! Its a nice little reminder to keep in your wallet, or a cute little note to leave if you’re going away… Other people are already thinking of xmas – we’ve spotted a few cards going through that will end up as gift tags, which is a great idea.

There’s also been some creative use of ASCII, as demonstrated here, by Flickr user ‘Warm ‘n Fuzzy’. The nice Skype people let us use that handwritten font, and it works really well on smilies :o)

As ever, keep an eye on the Flickr pool, to see what folks are getting up to. If you get a chance, post a photo of your own cards too – it makes us happy to see our little cards out there in the big wide world.

Am looking forward to receiving my batch of cards! This is a great gift. You guys should make gift certificates so I have something original to give for X-mas!

  2. Chris:

I got my cards today and am very happy. The size is unique enough to be memorable and the quality is excellent. Now I’m going to have to get a batch of flckr cards.

Got my cards a few weeks ago. First thing I ever actually got free from digg. Had the people up at working stumped for a good 20 minutes with one of mine which said “yaw gnorw”
