Crafty Fox is a pop-up South London craft market launched in 2010 by jewellery maker Sinead - aka Galavant - for emerging designers to showcase their work.

The emphasis is community driven, local artist and a truly creative space where punters can try out crafty activities - to really great music. And what’s more - they do some wonderfully arty and crafty things with MOO!

A Postcard by any other name

“We use MOO in a variety of ways at The Crafty Fox” Sinead tells us. “In advance of the event, we used Postcards as flyers, giving them out at the tube and in the local area to promote the market. MOO is a great fit for Crafty Fox as your paper quality lets us show off JimbobArt’s beautiful Crafty Fox illustrations at their best.” (Oh Sinead – we’re blushing.)

Cast your votes now!

As visitors arrived we handed each person a MiniCard at the door with The Crafty Fox on one side and space on the other side, for them to vote for their favourite stall using the MiniCard before leaving. Over 300 people voted! By casting a vote, visitors were entered into a draw to win prizes including a Mosaic Frame and MiniCards. The winners of the ‘favourite stall’ competition on each day also won a prize. To notify our lucky winners we had to capture their email addresses and so we gave them the chance to opt-in to our mailing list too. We also gave each stall holder a supply of MOO Stickers, each featuring a different Crafty Fox. They gave these out either to passing children or those who made a purchase from their stall. They were very popular!

Crafty. Foxy. Cool.

It’s a great idea – but what was the idea behind the idea? “We wanted to offer a mechanism for visitors to engage directly with the stall holders, even if they weren’t planning on making a purchase,” explains Sinead. “It seemed like an effective way to offer guests something extra as part of their visit to Crafty Fox. It also proved to be a useful way to build our mailing list without forcing people to opt in. Visitors really liked the cards and stickers and the competition was really popular. Plus, lots of people took flyers because they loved the picture.
