When it comes to creative customers, they don’t come much more remarkable than Wahanda founder, Lopo Champalimaud. The largest Health and Beauty marketplace in the world, Wahanda was born four years ago when Lopo noticed a glaring gap in the market, and thought “Why is it that you can book every single part of your life online – except beauty?”

His lightbulb moment brought together consumers in need of pampering with small businesses in need of exposure – be it a small local salon, a gym, a boutique hairdresser – and gave them an internet platform to market themselves. Lopo believes the secret to success is careful planning. “Before we started, we spent a long time talking in my living room - determined to pinpoint exactly how to attack the market, and how to really capitalise on this opportunity.”
