These images were inspired by Sigmund Freud, the Austrian doctor who pioneered psychotherapy. The images echo the mirrored ink blobs used in many forms of therapy to explore a patient’s unconscious. Of course, we've made them look beautiful in their own right, using watercolours to create a butterfly's wing effect, but you can still use them to explore your psyche.
Somang Lee is a London-based Illustrator and a graduate of the Royal College of Art, where she completed a Masters Degree in Communication Art & Design. She also studied at Central Saint Martins School of Art & Design, where she graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Illustration and Graphic Design. Stories are at the heart of what inspires her, as an image-maker, animator and performer, she always loved the ability to immerse herself in a good story and liked to create new worlds where reality and the imagined meet and become something unexpected.
