Business Development Manager

MOO is looking for an experienced and dynamic new hire to secure new business in the USA and elsewhere. If you have a proven ability to win new business, forge long-term partnerships, and make deals happen, then we want to hear from you!
Why do you want this job? Well, as a natural networker tired of liaising with companies that offer little passion and even less creativity, you need a new challenge. Once you have finished designing beautiful presentations, you spend your weekends at galleries, or with a camera in your hand, or working on your latest craft or design project. You want to work for a company that sees value in that. Finally, while you can negotiate and communicate, you believe that great design and great products speak for themselves and require no selling – they just need a little push in the right direction. And you should work for a company that believes that too. And that’s us; we are MOO.COM.
Responsibilities will include;
- Owning and achieving quarterly partner sales targets
- Identifying appropriate potential partners
- Collating necessary sales tools (e.g. presentations/samples/photography etc)
- Engaging with partners to secure, plan and launch long term relationships
- Account manage new and existing partnerships – grow the business as the partners learn what does and doesn’t work
- Work with events manager to maximise return from trade shows and exhibitions
- Report to manager with weekly progress updates
REQUIREMENTS
The candidate should be:
- Creative – did we mention that we pride ourselves (and our partnerships) on creative output?
- Results driven - forging new partnerships and spreading the word of MOO is a huge part of the role, but ultimate success will be judged by quantifiable metrics
- Trustworthy - much of the work will be autonomous
- Analytical - comfortable with online tools to track, measure and analyse impact of deals
- A natural communicator - stunning PowerPoint and well-written emails should compliment your ability to drive partnerships rather than be the main assets you have to engage with people
- Willing to travel - both domestic and occasional international trips will be expected as part of the role
- Truly passionate about the internet, and sales and marketing as disciplines
- Passionate about Print – we are!
And ideally should have;
- 3 + years experience preferably within internet based roles
- Excellent presentation and writing skills
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Enthusiasm and ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s Degree (with a business discipline preferred)
- Client-side or agency experience in the following areas;
- account management
- new business development
- strategic planning for new business
- Professional sales training preferred
The successful candidate will have an understanding of appropriate business relationships to help MOO’s awareness and market share of its key products. They will be able to plan at a strategic level, and implement at a tactical level. They will also be able to measure and report accurately to judge how effective each partnership is and identify areas to grow that business or attempt something new. Once a partner is on-board, the Business Development Manager will be expected to work with partners to find creative and interesting new ways to grow the business – both profitability of the partnership, as well as engagement of the communities/audience involved.
