We all know that Letterheads are a great way to send professional business communications, such as invoices, proposals, cover letters and more. These interactions with clients and business partners are important for helping your brand to stand out and be remembered, and are the perfect opportunity to have a little fun and show off your personality, too.
Letterheads have another trick up their sleeves – folding! When designing your Letterheads, why not give some thought to how the person opening the envelope will experience the information and your chosen design? Thanks to double-sided colour printing and the option of Printfinity with MOO Letterheads, there’s plenty of room to get creative.
We asked Felix, MOO Product Designer and bona fide paper geek, to show us a few examples of how folding and design could work together to help make your brand communications more memorable. We loved his ideas so much we then decided to have a bit of fun with some stop motion Vine videos.
First up is a really simple design idea, paired with a classic letter fold. Why not add some messaging to your design so it’s the first thing the recipient reads when they open the envelope? You could have some fun with the messaging, but remember to keep it appropriate for the kind of letter you’re sending. Want to give it a try? You can make your own version of the example below using our special MOO design template, Hello There.
You might want to add some playfulness to your Letterheads using colour and geometric elements, like we’ve done with this MOO design, Fold Up.
You could even take this idea a step further by getting creative with your brand’s logo. Take a look at Felix’s innovative variation on the classic letter fold. The business details are hidden underneath the logo until the addressee opens and unfolds the letter.
We stumbled across this final idea on For Print Only. You can even fold your Letterheads so they form their own envelope – how’s that for some nifty folding? Remember to seal with a sticker (maybe one of our Round Stickers?) to keep the information inside private.
Phew! We’re all folded out, so now it’s over to you. Do you use any creative folds to make your Letterheads really stand out? We’d love to see what you’ve come up with, so why not tweet us your ideas and suggestions? You might even want to create your own Vine stop motion if you really feel like showing off. Make sure to tag your creations with #JoinTheFold so we can see them and retweet them. Happy folding!
I found these letterheads pretty useless, it’s lost the professional touch.
We used the last one to mail letters to Viet Nam in the 60′s. also used small brown paper bags as stationary and folded them specifically to become an envelope as well. Had to save wherever we could. And weight was a large factor then too.
Great creativity. Like the ideas.
Awesome blog! Do you ave any hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own site sopn but I’m a little lost
