When MOO met MOO

28th March 2014 by DavidM

Here’s a little story about two MOO teams that were so close, yet so far away (over 3000 miles, in fact!). These teams look after businesses with 20+ employees at MOO; one team lives in the UK and the other lives in the US.

The teams were in regular contact over the phone and via video conferencing, but they felt something was missing. They harboured a secret dream … that one day they could meet up.

But there was a barrier to their dream – a little expanse of water known as the Atlantic Ocean (gasp!) With rubber dinghies not being an option, the teams almost gave up on the idea.

But wait a minute, is that a knight in shining armour we see in the distance?

Yes, it’s our hero, (let’s call him Simon), who suggested that there should be a …

MOO Meet Up!

The teams jumped for joy, and began to plan for their meeting straight away.

UK or USA?

The London office pulled the longest straw, so Providence was the stomping ground for the encounter.

To say the moment the teams met was a tad exciting is a bit of an understatement (cue tears, high fives, whoops of joy and group hugging – don’t judge us).

This was particularly true for Mona and Patty, two of our longest-serving Account Managers, who met for the first time after more than a year and a half working together. As one of the smallest teams at MOO they’re a tight-knit crew, and the buzz of meeting for the first time was felt by everyone.

The week was amazing – the teams shared their experience and ideas on delivering excellent customer service. There was a lot of thought-provoking discussion and debate, fueled by plenty of tea and cake.

Let the fun times roll

When not in the midst of conjuring up new and exciting ways to deliver service excellence, they did what any other MOO employee would do; they had some fun!

There was plenty of eating, karaoke, darts, dancing, and a treasure hunt in the freezing Providence weather (check out the winning team picture below).

The week came and went way too quickly, but the MOO Meet Up was a great success, and will definitely be a highlight for 2014.
