MONO – One year on…

Last year we launched the first ever MOO Award, with one simple goal in mind – we wanted to celebrate (and congratulate!) our small business customers for simply being remarkable. We received hundreds of entries, and after a few late nights (and a lot of coffee), our shortlist was sent to our judging panel who chose two winners who were truly, well… remarkable!

So as we launch the 2013 MOO Awards (that’s right, we’ve got four awards this year – in multiple categories!), we thought it was time to catch up with last year’s winners and see what they’ve been up to…

Daniel Kushner – MONOcreators

The first thing Daniel Kushner did after winning his MOO Award last year was to set up a discount for MOO customers – so we hope all our MOOsicians (sorry, couldn’t resist!) out there took advantage.

Over the past year, MONO has changed quite a bit; they’ve updated their business name (and social media handles) to MONO Creators LLC and launched new resources for their customers, like the Creators Network.

As well as launching the Creators Network, the MONO team has spent the year expanding their range of products to cater to a larger creative audience, from DJs and drummers, to designers and directors. Their expansion, as well as their carefully crafted social media presence has helped them cultivate a strong relationship with their customers. Building a community on Facebook and Twitter, has also allowed MONO to get involved with some really exciting customer-collaborative projects like Live @HQ: a collection of intimate performances from boundary-pushing artists.

Daniel put some of his 2012 MOO Award winnings towards new recording gear to help get their latest endeavour off the ground. In his own words, “This is all part of the long term vision for creating the world’s first lifestyle brand for the creative class.” We love how MONOcreators has gone beyond simply selling a product and provided a new platform for artists to share their work.

We’re excited that Daniel will be on the 2013 MOO Awards judging panel. Before submitting your entry, his advice is that you take a moment to “reflect on how amazing your ride has been, how thankful you are for those who have supported you so for, and how exhilarating the unknown ahead is” before entering this year’s Awards. Who could disagree with that?
