We’ve all got them, we may do them secretly, we might blog about them, we might even shout them from the rooftops (by rooftops, I mean on Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Pinterest, Insta…well, you get my drift).
What am I talking about? Hobbies. Well, maybe its more than hobbies, your passions.
So we’re opening the floor *uses giant scissors to cut the fancy red tape*. We’d love to see what your passion is!
It could be cake designing, calligraphy, matchstick creations or dressmaking. Maybe you’re the even worlds best competitive dog groomer (yes, that’s a thing – see).
We’re asking you to show us your passions. It doesn’t need to include MOO products, it might not even have anything to do with your business, but it’s that thing you love to do. We want to showcase your creativity and show off some of the amazing things you get up to! You can email them to firstname.lastname@example.org, post them on Facebook, Tweet them to us at @overheardatmoo, or even post them in the comments below.
Just send them our way by the 13th June and we’ll be featuring some of our favourite entries a special blog post!
We wanted to get the ball rolling for you. When you chat to people at MOO HQ, it doesn’t take long to find out that we’ve got a lot of creative people in the office. Below is just a snippet of some of the MOO Crew’s passions:
Andrea – Master cake maker
It’s probably what had your mouth watering on the MOOsLETTER. Andrea’s passion lies pretty close to our hearts…you guessed it, cakes! She makes beautiful, very (very) tasty cakes. It all started when she used to bake with her mum, they used to make all sorts of cakes in different designs, from scratch. Since then Andrea has even started making cupcake towers for weddings.
Dan – Music maestro
Dan is, as they say in Anchorman, kind of a big deal (but he’s too modest to say so). He self taught himself music software, he’s been signed to a record label in the UK, written music for TV shows on BBC1 and the discovery channel. He’s composed music for off-broadway in NYC and even played venues like Glastonbury. And to top it off, his Soundcloud and YouTube channels have over 400K plays. It all makes my singing along in the shower look a little bit less impressive now.
Keri – Speed Demon
Keri’s passion for cars started with her dad’s BMW 325i, as she says “the irresistible buttons and speed of the car felt like taking off in a rocket”. She then moved onto a track day with a Lotus Elite and was hooked! Not only has she driven an array of vehicles, but a tank as well! So what’s next? Keri wants to perfect her drifting technique and maybe even get involved in a drag race or two. Her passion comes from a love of speed and beautiful engineering – which keeps the designer in her happy.
Ali – Mr multilingual
Ali began learning Hebrew at Jewish Sunday school when he was younger, but mostly just the basics. His sister moving to Israel and a desire to learn another language was all the catalyst he needed to begin taking lessons again. A few lessons in and he’s learning all the key phrases you’d need (see below). It also helps him keep in touch with his sister – it’s a win/win scenario!
‘שוקולד’ – chocolate
‘עוגה’ – cake (It’s an important word to learn!)
‘איפה השירותים’ – Where are the toilets?
Tamsin – Sewing wizard
It’s fair to say that Tamsin is an expert with a sewing machine. During one of our MOO Hackdays, she was the creator of the famous MiniCard dress which still has pride of place in one of our meeting rooms. While it may not be the comfiest dress in the world, it’s definitely up there with some of the most innovative.
Roly – Creative hair extraordinaire
Roly’s hair has a bit of a reputation at MOO and it’s pretty easy to see why! He regularly comes in with fantastic images/designs/logos sprayed onto his hair. The details are getting even more intricate and they look amazing. We just applaud him for having the patience to do it that early in the morning!
You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really one thing that I
believe I’d never understand. It sort of feels too complex and very huge for me. I am taking a look ahead on your subsequent publish, I’ll attempt to
get the cling of it!
