The Business Cards of the Future – NFC

September 2012, by Martin | 211 Comments – latest by Hannah Jordan

Since MOO started in 2006, we’ve been focused on the idea of revolutionizing the Business Card. We’ve always aimed to upset the existing order within print – to do new things, think in exciting ways, and to go where no man has gone before. **ahem**

Six years later those aims haven’t changed. We still want to upset the order, and we still want to make people gasp – in a good way, and we still want to meet a Klingon. As a consequence, a small group here at MOO HQ has been secretly working on some exciting new things that we hope will help to define the way that we all exchange personal information in the future. Whilst we’re not ready …Continue reading this article…

Add some shine with a new MOO design competition!

September 2012, by Jon | 17 Comments – latest by Kalli

You might have seen that we recently launched Gloss Business Cards and MiniCards, which we are really excited about! We think they are perfect for photographers, artists, illustrators, designs – in fact; anyone who wants to show off their images in pocket-sized, MOO-quality, glossy-glory.

Recently we’ve had a series of celebrity card competitions, in which we’ve asked you to come up with Business Card designs for Zeus, Christopher Columbus and a sticky label design for Leonardo Da Vinci – pretty good, huh?

This time, we’re taking the theme of gloss, shine, and quite frankly, running wild with …Continue reading this article…

The MOO Crew get hacking

September 2012, by James B | Add a comment

Here at MOO, we love technology, and so every now and then we take a break from our “roadmap” to get a bit creative by having a Hack Day.

The Brief

It’s a chance to try out a working prototype of an adventurous idea. It can be something to improve, or it can be office related. Or it can just be a bit of fun involving some clever piece of technology. Hack Day only has two rules:

People can work individually, or in teams. The only requirement is that you do something and then make a short presentation about that something at the end of Hack Day.
There is no number 2.

Thursday, 9:00am: all participants gathered in the office canteen to fuel up …Continue reading this article…

“Agent Wilson, Agent Grey; your mission, should you choose to accept it…”

September 2012, by Matt G | Add a comment

King of all I survey

Little did Rob and I know that the mission would be quite so much hard work, and involve quite so much walking.

Armed only with charm, wit and our cameras (and a couple of very fetching safety harnesses) Rob and I ventured to the top of quite a tall building as part of what has been fondly dubbed ‘Project Umbrella’. Continue reading this article…

We have a winner! Da Vinci’s Label competition

September 2012, by Jon | 4 Comments – latest by Joe Sparks

A few weeks ago we asked you to design a sticky label for Leonardo Da Vinci. Drum roll please… It’s time to announce the winner of the design-a-sticky-label-for-Leonardo-Da-Vinci-competition (we really are excellent at coming up with snappy, memorable names for things at MOO)!

We were really amazed at the number of submissions that were attractive and intelligent (two adjectives we like to think also apply to the MOO Crew) and we have whittled them down to select a winner.

After much deliberation and hours of sifting through great big sacks full of postal entries (OK, we lied – emails) we’re very excited to announce that Micha Lema has been selected as the winner! We loved the fun mix of old and modern, …Continue reading this article…

Happy Birthday to MOO!

September 2012, by Sally T | 2 Comments – latest by Justis S

Last Thursday, you may have seen a certain Scrutton Street car park awash with brightly coloured umbrellas, and later in the evening perhaps you heard the strumming of your favourite local folk band.

What else could it have been but the MOO birthday party, I hear you say.

From the moment our first guest arrived, the umbrellas were a fantastic talking point as we munched on Big Apple Hot Dogs and falafel from Hoxton Beach. They had our mouths watering for most of the afternoon with the aroma of frying onions wafting into the office. MOO’s famous sweet tooth was satisfied by naughty but delicious ice-cream sarnies from …Continue reading this article…

MOO and improved

September 2012, by Brad | 13 Comments – latest by Jon B

At MOO we think it should be easy to make the card you want. For many customers, a big part of their Business Card is their artwork and photography: showing off your product or yourself is a great way to make an impact. So we took a long look at the way your add photographs to your MOO cards, and decided that there were three things we wanted to try and make easier:

1. Trying out lots of photos to find the one you want on your business cards.

2. Using your pictures from multiple places: whether they’re on your own computer, one of our image partners (Flickr, Picasa, Smugmug, or Etsy), or a freshly created QR Code.

3. And being able to …Continue reading this article…

Bunny Business

September 2012, by Jovanna | 4 Comments – latest by directorio empresas

Jovanna's Bunny

I had a peculiar dream one night, where a bunch of little fluffy white bunnies were following me around. They didn’t do much, as bunnies do, they just looked up at me with their black peppercorn eyes and hopped after me where ever I went. I could never figure out what they wanted, if they were evil spy bunnies or just some cute company to make me feel less lonely?

When I woke up in the morning I kind of missed them, somehow I quite enjoyed their presence. So I thought that it would be nice to make some bunny stickers and place them around the office. They appear in odd places, where you …Continue reading this article…
