Introducing Sean Adams to the Luxe Project

23rd July 2012 by Dan H

The Luxe Project  sees us partnering with renowned designers to offer exclusive Luxe Business Card designs for a full year. And since we believe great design can change the world, 100% of all net proceeds will be donated to the designer’s charity of choice.

We’ve had some fantastic offerings from Michael Osbourne, Dan Rubin and Katie Barcelona, and we’re very pleased to introduce Sean Adams as the next designer to create some exclusive Luxe Business Card designs.

A bit about Sean

Sean Adams is an AIGA fellow, and partner at AdamsMorioka in Beverly Hills. He counts (one of our favourites!) Mohawk Fine Paper among his clients and was named one of the forty most important people shaping design internationally in the ID40. He’s also authored and co-authored several best selling design books, including “Thou Shalt Not Use Comic Sans.”

Sean’s designs:

Sean has created three wonderful, exclusive packs for us, each very different and striking in their own way:

Pattern and colour was inspired by the sculpture of Harry Bertoia, and the colour palettes of Saul Bass, these cards are all joy and delight and the perfect way to bring a bit of brightness to your perspective clients:

Sean’s second pack, Ships Ahoy! were inspired by a tea towel in his grandmothers house, and it’s really exciting to see such a mundane item as the inspiration behind such a colourful (and playful) pack of Business Cards.

The third and final design from Sean Adams, titled Sad Places, blends a selection of depressing locations with stunningly beautiful photography. The result is a totally unique, collectable set of cards that are truly remarkable to look at, as well as making you think.

All net proceeds from these packs will go to The Art Center College of Design Scholarship fund. Here’s more about it in Sean’s own words, “As the cost of higher education rises, and government support drops, it’s important to support the next generation of designers. So many students at Art Center are marvelously talented. But each term they struggle to make ends meet and stay in school. I’ve seen too many remarkable people leave school because they couldn’t afford to continue. A creative person does the best work when they are free to concentrate on the work, and not be distracted by serious financial issues.”

Welcome  Sean, we’re so happy to add you to our roster of Luxe Project designers!
