So, to help spread the love, we thought we’d create this clever infographic that looks at the evolution of Business Cards – from their origins in 15th Century Japan right through to the modern day developments in card stock and printing techniques.

I noticed something that appears to be a typo. In the 19th century column, it says that it was patented in “Parid”, which I think is supposed to say “Paris”. Just wanted to be helpful…
Love it. I’m definitely glad printed business cards haven’t gone the way of the dodo bird (as many have predicted over the last few years).
There’s just something about the exchange that makes those interactions much more interesting. Plus, you can usually tell who is printing cards out of their basement and that gives you the chance to tell them about the awesomeness of moo.
I have some ‘stone’ business cards at home that I picked up at a flea market in China, they are awesome things – about the size of a small post card and quite intricate, I have no idea of age – or even the business they are for – but they feel nearly as precious as my current MOO cards!
