Life as a MOO Marketing intern: Simi’s top 5

Tired team after set up!

Simi with Simon and Monika after setting up the MOO booth for FOCUS

As my marketing internship at MOO draws to a close, trying to sum up everything that I’ve learned and enjoyed in the last three months is a tough task. So, I’ve put together my MOO Top 5:

1. Getting to know MOO
Throughout the internship, I’ve loved working with both the MOO crew and the products.

I’ve seen Big MOO get its print on, and caught a glimpse of those CMYK vats as delicious as slushie mixers; done an afternoon’s ‘elfing’ in the warehouse – to help products be sorted, packaged and sent with as much care as a gift; and been warmly welcomed by the nice people here who love to print.

2. FOCUS Photography Exhibition, NEC
In early March, a van full of MOO arrived in Birmingham for the Focus on Imaging Exhibition, and I got to help out at the show from start to finish.

This wasn’t just a perfect excuse to practice my ShowCase ‘fan’, it was great to have the chance to hear some offline reactions and ideas from photographers, and help spread the word.

Although a little hectic and exhausting at times (Printfinity explanations approaching infinity), our energy levels were kept up by the buzz of seasoned fans dropping by to see what’s new, and just to say, “I love MOO.”

3. MOO Designs and industries
A recent addition to the Products menu is the “Browse by industry” navigation, which offers a variety of product designs tailored to specific industries. Helping on this project, it was really interesting to see elements being created across different departments, and rewarding when these pieces finally fit snugly together to go live on the site. Plus, I’m chuffed I got to keep that cardigan.

4. Foodies
Not only does the MOO Crew sit down together weekly to eat a delicious Friday lunch (everything from pies and burritos, to a food-coma-inducing roast dinner), there is also an endless supply of cakey goodness.

Despite having to weather disapproval for munching on toast some lunchtimes, it was still great to be around such foodies.

5. Yay!
And finally, there were all the awesome, surreal and unexpected jobs – like helping to fill a white board with some mad science for the MOO-D Cards video, Hack Day, and that little bit of hand-modelling I got to do here and there.
