What’s in the Box? – A MOO Competition!

6th April 2011 by Charlotte

A few days ago, we received a top secret special something that made everyone at MOO HQ very, very happy – and we hope it’s going to make you all equally happy (as soon as we’re allowed to reveal what it is). When we posted a picture on Twitter, you made us laugh so much with your impromptu guesses (yes, “Wardrobe to Narnia” and “Time Machine”, we’re talking to you) that we thought we’d have a little fun. So, over the next few weeks, we’re running a competition called “What’s in the box?”

MOO Arrival

We’re looking for the most fun and fabulous guesses you can come up with – and since we know you’re an uber-creative community, don’t be afraid to (ahem) think outside the box (Oh dear. That was terrible, wasn’t it? That’s what happens when you try to box clever…)

To enter:

-Post your guesses in the comment section below (though if you do want to put your “answer on a postcard”, you’ll get brownie points if you made it at MOO!). If you don’t see your comment immediately, it’s just because we do have to check that they are nice and clean first – remember your mother could be reading this!

-The closing date is Sunday 17 April 11.59pm PT and we’ll announce the winner on the blog in the week beginning Monday 18 April

-The final decision will be made by Lisa, our very own VP of Marketing and Product

What’s the prize, we hear you shout? Glad you asked! The person who comes up with our favourite guess will win themselves £100 / $165 to spend with MOO.

Let the guessing games begin!

  5. leslie janson:

  6. leslie janson:

    can i enter twice?

it’s the real missing cobra from the bronx zoo; the one that they found hiding is an imposter.

  7. Karen:

A big eco-bubble of happiness…an encapsulated drop of joy, a recycling of the excitement your customers feel the first time they open the box of Moo products they ordered and realize that this is a mini-treasure!

  8. Katherine:

A museum with all the paintings I sold last year in it?
Ah ha hahahaha HA HA haha ha ehem-snif-ha.

  12. Nancy Naigle:

I’ve got my fingers crossed that the box contains the stock for printing those MOOdtastic cards that are going to rock this world. I have a YA novel that will be hitting the market soon and I’m dying to get those cards for promotion! Please, please, please be the cardstock AND/OR coolio ink to make that a dream come true!

  13. Jennifer:

I think its a new robot that makes picture stamps and or all in one robot that does coffee runs! :0)

  14. JeffreyPhoto:

The box does not contain anything but a virtual magnet
for all the ideas of we Moosters. You used this
scheme to attract loads of new ideas from your
    customers and friends. Good luck!
But you won’t get my two pence worth from such a
    blatant promotional ploy.

    Ebenizer Scrooge

  15. Jennifer Gibson:

Hmm, looks like we need Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch version) to give us a helping hand. He would likely suggest it’s a new mobile unit for Torchwood since Dr. Who is trying to get the Tardis back from the ARC as the Primeval team scrambles to close an anomaly to save London. Again.

  16. David O.:

So that’s where my box went!

  17. char:

    It’s the “MOOnaLisa” :-)

  18. Char:

    Could it be THE Moon-A-Lisa?

  19. Joe Sterne:

Clearly this is a lifesize postcard maker…for giants. They are people too, remember, and often a under represented demographic.

I am happy that Moo is supplying the giant population!

  20. dirac3000:

Moo chocolate! And magic moo ink for awesome cards!

(BTW, I should order some more soon)

  21. Ian Chapman:

It’s a mind reader printing machine that knows what the customer needs. It automatically takes payment, produces the order, then sends it to the correct address every time! It also assures you that nothing can go wrong … go wrong … go wrong … go wrong …

  22. Ivor:

If you can hear music it’s a MOOsical box full of MOO cows MOOing

  23. AnnaB:

Printfinity decals: so you can stick it ‘anywhere’ (in your car window, on your fancy enviro-friendly water bottle, or anywhere else that takes your fancy.

  24. JD:

I would say the TARDIS but that would be a blue box….

    A Kegerator?

  25. Lona:

you are all so happy because charlie sheen is in there, isn’t he!? winning!

  26. dan:

Enclosed in this mystery box is our newest and greatest invention ever here at MOO. It is the Moologrphic Optical Objectifier Delineator (or MooD). The MooD is what our Moogineers have been working on relentlessly for the past 16 hours (over the past 3 weeks) with no regard to their personal lives outside of these walls. So what exactly does the MooD do? It is something never before seen or known to mankind and will change the way everyone will conduct business (and I dare say even live) from now on. It can not be described adequately enough through mere words, but we will try anyway. It is a revolutionary process in which we blend ink printing onto cards that when touched reveals a 3D HDR holographic 1/2 meter animation above the surface of the card. (Our market tests have shown that anything larger causes people to drop the card and run away screaming) It brings your business card designs/pictures to life in high resolution 3D. We are not speaking the Star Wars’ R2D2 holographic animation either, this is a kick in your teeth, attention grabbing, utopian holographic animation. We call it MoolaVision.
Your clients will be stunned and amazed. (Our other market tests have proven that they will sign any business contract on the spot without question) MoolaVision is future and the future is now through it.
The best part is that MoolaVision will not cost anymore than our existing products. Our Moogineers have found the perfect blend of technology advancement and production cost reductions to make this a perfect fit all the way around. Once our MoolaVision Software Interface is up, we will begin to take orders. This will take place in about 10 days as our Moogineers are on holiday in the Caymans after exerting so much time on creating the MooD and Moolavision. After that, they will come back and tirelessly work for 15 minutes to get this off the ground.
MoolaVision, the art of you in amazing HDR 3D Animation all in your pocket.

  27. anne vinsel:

it’s the magic moo postcard generator that lets you have different images on the back and on the front too! or possibly it’s moo dust, which makes us all want to make more and more postcards!

  28. Colin:

Is it the worlds first fusion reactor capable of powering all moo operations in a very green and sustainable way from now until infinity?

  29. Keith Austin:

Is it a modified cow (moo) that milks different colour inks

  30. David Levin:

It’s an artful formation of a Moo icon made of samples of all the print products Moo.com offers, including sample print products (i.e. business cards, postcards, greeting cards, etc.) from some customers’ orders as a part of this Moo icon formation.

  31. roosje penfold:

Its called a ‘Better Invisibility Box’
    (for when reality bites)

  32. Ivan:

A stock of Douglas Adam’s Hyper intelligent shades of blue Ink?

  33. Ivan:

hrmm, it’s the right size, perhaps it’s The new MEGA-MOO Cards. A big card for big business!

  34. Lara:

It’s the spirit of creativity wrapped in bubble wrap and sealed with a kiss. x

  35. Alliea:

Is it a printer for bigger things like posters and banners? That would be cool, though I really hope it’s MOOd ink for MOOd cards… ‘cuz that would be AWESOME!

  36. Miry:

An original 1962 juke box from Hairspray the musical!

  37. Matt:

My immediate thought was Marsellus Wallace’s soul, but secretly I hoped it would a literal figure or diorama of the fancy website Selleck-Waterfall-Sandwich showcasing Tom Selleck’s amazing mustache, a daily sandwich special, and of course, a waterfall.

  38. Manda7:

    is it my dignity?

  39. SBGrad:

    Calvin’s transmogrifier.

  40. Susan Webner:

    It’s a baby giraffe. Definitely.

  41. martin:

i think it is a fancy corner cutting sticker maker…..framing moo cards!!

  42. Silvia:

Chocolate for printing your Moo everything on.Chocolate Postcards, MiniMoos ect ect. Failing that……Nothing

  43. Emma:

    A printer that prints glitter!

  44. Emily:

Obviously, it’s just a panel of plywood stood on end and carefully photographed. There isn’t a box – it’s a trick question.

However, if there WERE a box of this size at MOO HQ, the only logical contents would be a giant standalone moo ink droplet-shaped photo printer.

  45. Christine:

It’s my dignity. I’ve been looking for it for decades now. Could you please send it home?

  46. stacey:

of course it is a literal ton of chocolate! what else would excite so many people?

  47. KPokey:

its a MOO-rific contraption to convert all the scrap cardstock, cardboard, and chipboard in MOOville into crafty eco friendly bits of goodness :)

  48. Kiran:

Is is the famous cow’s partner? moooooo… hehehe :)
