What will you remember about 2010?

20th December 2010 by Andrea

Despite the uncertain economic climate, 2010 was a memorable year for MOO. After revamping our entire website, we continued to push the envelope of online printing, launched new products and features, and welcomed several new team members. We also threw two awesome parties! Come on, let’s look back at the year and get all misty eyed together.

In January, we got off to a rather sad start as the earthquake in Haiti killed, injured and made homeless over a million people. But we were really impressed when San Francisco based journalist Lane Hartwell contacted us about an idea she’d had for a magazine called One Respe, featuring award winning photography highlighting the work needed to restore Haiti. We really love print, so when it’s used for such a good cause, it always makes us happy!

It was all quiet on the MOO front (though busy behind the scenes) in February and March, but in April we introduced our first new online feature of the year – photo enhancement.  It’s a tool we designed to make your photos look even brighter and more fantastic on your cards, and as ever, its really easy to use, and designed solely to make your cards look great.

Like the rest of the country, in May we were preoccupied with the drama of the General Election – until we discovered this MOO loving guy!

He’s a Canadian producer of digital content called Andrew, who operates under the moniker Gunnerolla. And as you can see from his laugh-out-loud videos, he really loves our products!

It’s tough to think back when it’s so miserable outside, but do you remember our lovely summer in June? It was World Cup Fever at MOO HQ (and every other office in the world, we’re guessing!) but as usual, we had more than one thing on our minds. We also launched our hugely successful Business Card Project, where we offered a totally free Business Card redesign (from our tireless designers Monika, Jovanna and Snow) to hundreds of small businesses around the world. And while the world first heard the term “Wikileaks”, we continued the good summer vibes in July with our fantastic MOO Summer Party - where no classified information remained uncovered between friends!

As summer drew to a close in August and September, we finally unveiled what we’d been working on all year – our brand new-look website (yay!). We also partnered with the lovely folks at SmugMug and Picasa, making it even easier to upload your photos to MOO.

We launched our uber-cool Showcase in October – a Business Card holder that snaps open and fans out so you can show off your entire portfolio of MOO cards at once!

The year rounded off in November and December with a flurry of excitement – the Chilean miners were rescued, and we produced even more new features for you to get excited about – Rush Printing, the US launch of MOO StickerBooks and some awesome new text-cards from MOO favourite, business guru Seth Godin.

Wow. We actually achieved a lot this year! Kind of puts the pressure on for 2011, doesn’t it? Luckily, we have a whole bunch of tricks up our collective sleeve – so stay tuned, and have a fantastic new year!

Love, the MOO Crew
