Creative (text-based) cards

19th August 2010 by Rebeka

Like the idea of ‘Printfinity‘ but don’t have different photos or images for your Business Cards? No problem! There’s still plenty of ways to get creative using only text. We’ve seen loads of text-based Business Cards, like BatchBlue’s use of Twitter quotes from happy customers or Equinox Photography’s fortune cookie MiniCards, that certainly stand out from the crowd. Words can have just as much impact as images, and can often be great conversation starters. Here are some examples of ways you can get creative with your cards by using only text.

Customer Quotes

These cards were designed for e3Strategies by The Business Card Project. e3Strategies provides consulting services for adult learning initiatives, including leadership and management development programs. Being a service-oriented company, the challenge was to showcase the quality of their work without having physical products to feature on their Business Cards. Each new ‘front’ features quotes from happy customers. So now when they meet potential clients, they can easily show off how much their customers love them.

List of Services

Another great way to use text-only Business Cards is to feature a full list of services in your product offering. Take this Business Card Project redesign for Red Ember Marketing. Red Ember is a specialty marketing firm with a wide array of services, spanning from web design to marketing strategy to video production. Sometimes they meet clients who are only interested in one of their marketing services, rather than the whole lot. By having their different services listed on different Business Cards, they can now pick the most appropriate card for each potential client.

Tips and Advice

BizTechDay is a conference where entrepreneurs share impactful business and technology strategies. Since their business is all about sharing ideas and advice, it was only fitting that their Business Cards provide useful tips and information. Their cards not only provide the necessary contact details, but also provide five useful business tips based on their five core values. People will want to collect all five–just the thing that will keep their cards out of the rubbish bin. Their Business Cards are now just as informative as their events!
