New! Moo Uploader!

2nd April 2007 by Denise

Things have been pretty busy here recently – so busy in fact, this is the first chance we’ve had to shout about our latest thing: The MOO Uploader.

So many people have been asking for this, we’re really excited to say it’s all up and running. You can now make MiniCards by uploading your pngs, gifs or jpegs directly to MOO. And because we know some of you like to make full use of the 100 images in a pack, you can even upload zip files of multiple images.

We ask that the image is at least 1024×1024 pixels – to ensure we have the resolution to print good looking cards, and the maximum file size is 50MB. Aside from that, you have free range to be as creative as you like.

As we launched this rather quietly last week, we’ve already noticed orders going through from eagle eyed MOO visitors, and we’re happy to say it’s all looking good from here.

We hope you enjoy it too.

50MB for 100 images or 50MB for 1 image? I guess the former but just wanna be sure.

  2. Belinda:

Just got my very first order of Moo Cards and WOW i’m very impressed. And you all need to be able to give us larger quality orders. I realy like is the 90Lb paper on a mat finish and I can but my own photos on them.

  3. Denise:

    @Hazel – its 50MB per upload.

@Belinda – yay! Really pleased you’re happy with your cards. We’re looking at doing various new things, so please keep your suggestions and comments coming.

  4. etigro:

On card resolution, your FAQ mentions 692by 1024 px before croping as a minimum, whereas your post mentions 240by240 px. Could you clarify please ?

  5. Rob:

ooh, and just days after I ordered cards by going through some crazy machinations! Great to see! Congrats!

  6. kylie Lambert:

Love, love, love them!!!!!!!!! No-one I know knows about them so i’m telling everyone!
I’m huge on detail & beauty & these are it! Keep up the good work (please bring out pamphlets next as I need loads for my business!!)

oops. You’re totally right – if you don’t want to crop before you upload, we’d suggest a minumum of 1024×1024. This will give you an image of good enough resolution, and you can use the MOO cropping tool when you design your cards.

If you want to make images to the correct proportions for a MiniCard – go with the advice and sizes given in the FAQ. This will ensure the right proportions, and that you have the bleed area covered too.

Thanks for bringing this up – and sorry for the confusion. Too much caffeine, I did say we’d been busy :)

  8. Michael G:

Hi, another great addition. Are there any plans to add the icon/image feature on the back of the cards? I’ve just ordered a batch of moo cards to use as biz cards, but used the Flickr uploader so I was able to add the image on the back.

You’re the best! I’ve been hoping for this so much. Now I can fling out the remaining cards and order new stock!
